The standard service covers one finished formulation with up to 5 ingredients, including up to 3 essential oils in your blend.
If your formulation contains more than 3 essential oils, additional base ingredients or other ingredients outside the standard service, please contact us before purchasing. Your formulation will be reviewed and quoted individually.
What you receive
CLP label data
• A thorough check of all supporting documents for scent or other ingredients
to ensure appropriate usage levels
• CLP label data for the finished product as per the final formulation - this is the
information to include on a label NOT printed labels
• SDS tailored to the details of the finished product for your own retail
customers if requested or to accompany wholesale product sales

What I need from you
After purchase, you will be asked to provide:
Your full formulation
The quantity or percentage of each ingredient
Product name
Intended use
Relevant supplier information
SDS and technical documentation where applicable
IFRA certificate where applicable
Allergen information where applicable
Your business name and address
Your CLP assessment is based on your final formulation, so the information provided needs to be accurate.
What products can this cover?
Examples include:
Room sprays
Linen sprays
Shower steamers
Other home fragrance products
For aromatic spray products, the relevant IFRA category and supporting documentation will also need to be considered.
Your claims matter
How you describe and market your product can affect which legislation applies.
Cleaning claims
Claims about cleaning floors, laundry or other things may bring detergent legislation and additional testing requirements into play.
Pest-control claims
Claims such as flea repellent, mosquito deterrent or other bug-control claims may mean your product falls under biocidal legislation.
Medical or therapeutic claims
Claims about healing, treating or preventing medical conditions may move your product into medicines legislation.
Your intended use and marketing claims need to be considered before your product is finalised.

Adding another scent to an existing formulation?
If you already have a CLP assessment for your formulation and want to create another product using the same base formulation and essential oil level, you may be able to purchase a CLP variation for £20.
This service is for additional products where:
The base formulation remains the same
The essential oil level remains the same
The essential oil blend changes
The original formulation must already have been assessed through the standard CLP authoring service.
For example
You have already had a room spray assessed using:
Same base formulation + 3% essential oils
You then want to create another version using a different essential oil blend, while keeping the base formulation and essential oil level the same.
That new product may be treated as a CLP variation at £20.
What you receive
You will receive the CLP label data for the additional product based on the formulation information provided.
This is label data, not printed labels or graphic design.
The relevant supporting documentation for the new essential oil blend will also need to be provided for review.
What I need from you
After purchase, you will be asked to provide:
The new essential oil blend
The quantity or percentage of each essential oil
Confirmation that the base formulation remains unchanged
Confirmation that the essential oil level remains unchanged
Relevant supplier SDS and technical documentation
IFRA certificate where applicable
Allergen information where applicable
Product name
Your business details
When the £20 variation does NOT apply
The £20 variation price does not apply if you are changing the underlying formulation.
For example, you may need an individual quotation if you are:
Adding additional base ingredients
Changing the base formulation
Increasing or changing the essential oil level
Using more than 3 essential oils
Adding other ingredients outside the standard service
Creating a more complex formulation

If the formulation does not meet those criteria, your purchase may need to be reviewed before the CLP work can be completed.
